Announcement of the start of collaborative research with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)
2025/03/09
A joint research project with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) will begin on March 12, 2025.
The purpose of this research is to develop sorghum varieties suited to Malaysia's climate and promote their application in livestock and biomass industries.
(Research Contents)
This joint research project will focus on the following research topics with the aim of developing sustainable agriculture and industrial use:
Improved suitability as cattle feed:The aim is to improve digestibility and nutritional value, thereby increasing its value as feed.
Establishment of silage production technology for overseas export:Develop silage production technology that can be applied to long-term storage and transportation.
Development of high sugar content sorghum:Develop varieties suitable for biomass fuel and food processing.
(Forms of cooperation)
In this research, we will proceed with effective breeding and practical application under the following collaborative framework.
Conducting joint research on breeding:The aim is to develop sorghum that is highly adaptable to the environment by utilizing genetic analysis and breeding techniques.
Conducting field tests and demonstration experiments:Test cultivation will be conducted on actual farmland to verify practicality.
